Come join us. We offer a wide range of sewing, embroidery, quilting, and other crafting classes at our shop in Minneapolis, MN.

A delightful shop

Lakes Makerie is a delightful shop with a cornucopia of inspirational fabrics, patterns, notions and things you didn’t know that you need! I especially love the Japanese fabrics and clever tools. Taking a class there is the perfect therapy, using hands to create and taking a treasure home. What a joy!

A glorious class!

I spent two glorious sessions with Kim to conceptualize and complete a garment. Kim's creative thinking, sewing mastery and patience gave me the confidence I needed to slice into precious cloth and figure out every step to create a bespoke jacket. I'm searching for my next project to tackle with Kim.
