A beautiful undyed natural Kala cotton with block printed little dots in blue, black and rusty red
Kala cotton is a purely rain fed cotton indigenous to the Kachchh (Kutch) region of western India. It is grown in a sustainable way due to the resilient nature of the plant, the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers are not needed. It forms a strong and coarse fibre that produces a uniquely textured cloth.
This cloth would make beautiful skirts, dresses, tops and shirts. It would also be suitable for lightweight curtains.

Indian handlooms are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave due to their handmade nature, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.

Care: For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
Price listed is per quarter yard (9" linear), please order in multiples for desired total yardage (example: for 1/2 yard enter "2" for quantity, for 1 1/2 yards enter "6" for quantity). Fabric will be shipped in contiguous, uncut yardage unless otherwise requested.
