Class: Comfy Undies with Evan - Pattern Adjustments & Construction, Thursdays October 8 & 15, 5:30-8:30PM (2 sessions)

Learn to make your own perfectly comfy undies while gaining skills that you can use far beyond this one project! In this two-week workshop, we'll be using the Stage Brief pattern by Daughter Judy as a starting point to explore both pattern adjustment and comfortable, beginner-friendly underwear construction.

The first session will focus on pattern work and preparation. You'll learn how to take an existing underwear pattern and adjust it to better suit your personal preferences, including making changes to the fit and shape of the pattern. We'll then prepare our pieces and get everything ready for construction.

In the second session, we'll focus on sewing and construction, including a simple and comfortable ribbed binding finish in place of traditional elastic. This method creates a soft, clean finish along the edges of the underwear and is an excellent technique for beginners. Even better, this binding method isn't limited to underwear—it can be used to finish a variety of knit garment edges, making it a technique you'll be able to carry into future projects.

Skill Level: Confident Beginner/Intermediate. You need to have sewn a garment, quilt, bag or participated in a beginner sewing class prior to this class and feel comfortable using your machine.

What's Included: Everything you need to make your comfy undies! The class fee includes fabric for your project, a spool of Gutermann thread, a twin needle for finishing , the Daughter Judy Stage Brief printed PDF pattern, and use of all classroom tools. 

Class Schedule: This is a two-week class, meeting Thursdays October 8 & 15 from 5:30-8:30PM.

Sizing: The Stage Brief pattern which this class uses as a base includes sizes XS-5X. See the chart in photos for sizing details of the original pattern. 

What to Bring:

• Sewing machine with basic accessories (foot pedal, power cord, bobbin, etc.)
  
• Any other sewing tools you like to use at home! 

Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 4 students to hold the class (if we're not able to run this class you'll be refunded). If you need to cancel within 1 week of the class, you will receive store credit.
