Class: Self-Drafted Cozy Top with Jenny, Tuesdays October 13 & 20, 11AM-2PM (2 sessions)
Expand your skill set and learn how to draft a pattern and sew a comfy top that is unique to you! Jenny will guide you through some basic flat pattern making principles using a few simple measurements. You will leave with boxy top cozy enough to sleep in, yet cute enough to wear out and about!
Skill Level: Advancing Beginner. You should be familiar with sewing garments from paper patterns and comfortable using your machine.
What You'll Learn:
- Some flat pattern making skills
- Basic top fitting principles
- How to draft a simple boxy top pattern
Class Fee: The cost of this class is $190. This includes elastic and all pattern making supplies needed to complete the project, as well as instructions & materials to create a template (aka "sloper") unique to you at home.
Class Schedule: This class meets on Tuesdays October 13 & 20 from 11AM-2PM. There may be some homework in between sessions.
What to Bring:
- Sewing machine & accessories (Let us know if you need to borrow a studio machine!)
- Your preferred sewing tools (many provided in the studio)
- 1.5 yards of cotton fabric and coordinating thread
Fabric Recommendations: Liberty Tana Lawn, one of our Japanese lawns, or Art Gallery Solid poplins are all great choices. Any cotton woven will do. Please let us know (call or email) or come into the shop if you need help choosing!
Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 4 students to hold the class (if we're not able to run this class you'll be refunded). If you need to cancel within 1 week of the class, you will received store credit.
