Class: Sew Two Foldable Dopp Kits with Evan, Saturday October 18, 9AM-12PM

In this class, you’ll make two versatile foldable dopp kits— one larger with a hang loop and one smaller, perfect for a small yarn project or toiletries. 

Skill Level: You need to be able to sew a straight line, back tack, sew a zig zag, thread & unjam your machine, and wind your bobbin. If you don't have any experience with sewing machines, check out our Meet Your Machine class or any of our “Absolute Beginner” classes first.

What You'll Learn: 

• How to install a zipper 
• Using bias binding to finish zipper ends cleanly
• Constructing a foldable dopp kit in two different sizes

What's Included: 

• Fabric, thread, and nylon coil zippers for both dopp kits 
• Step-by-step instructions to recreate the dopp kits at home (video)

Class Fee: The cost of this class is $100. The cost of instruction is $75 and the materials fee (required) is $25 and includes the patterns, fabric, thread, and zippers. 

What to Bring: 

• Sewing machine with basic accessories (foot pedal, power cord, bobbin, etc.). Bringing your own machine is encouraged, but studio machines are available—please reach out to info@lakemakerie.com to reserve one after you register for class. Machines are limited. 
  
• A Zipper Foot! This is the most important thing to remember to bring along. It will be crucial to the sewing process!
• Optional: Any sewing tools you love using!

Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 4 students to hold the class (if we're not able to run this class you'll be refunded). If you need to cancel within 1 week of the class, you will receive store credit.
