













Class: Sew the Homebody Quilted Jacket with Evan! Starts Wednesday October 8, 5:30-8:30PM (4 sessions)
Get ready for fall with the Homebody Quilted Jacket!
The Homebody Quilted Jacket is designed to be a cozy oversized piece you can throw on for comfort and slouchy style points. It is a collarless jacket with a boxy fit, button placket and two front patch pockets. The sleeves feature a boxy style dropped shoulder, are roomy enough to fit a mid-weight sweater, hit below the wrist and finished with an elastic channel at the cuff to keep drafts at bay. Optional bias bound cuff is also available.
Skill Level: Advancing Beginner. You need to have sewn a garment, quilt, bag or participated in a beginner sewing class prior to this class and feel comfortable using your machine. There will some homework assignments between classes.
What You'll Learn:
- How to quilt your own fabric
- How to use bias tape to finish jacket edges
- How to add patch pockets, cuffs sleeves, and (optional) an elasticated cuff
- The process of basting and quilting with batting
What's Included:
- Printed PDF pattern
- 72" by 90" bamboo-cotton batting
- Elastic (for optional elasticated cuff sleeve)
- Use of studio tools, overlock serger, and basting spray
Class Fee: The cost of instruction for this class is $300 and the kit fee (required) is $65, for a total class fee of $365.
Class Schedule: This class is offered as a four part series on Wednesday nights and will run 10/8, 10/15, 10/23, and 10/30 from 5:30-8:30PM.

Fabric Recommendations:
Fableism cottons, Atelier Brunette light gabardine (for outer fabric), Robert Kaufman checks and stripes, Tilda cottons, Perfect Points cheater quilt prints), Ruby Star Society Cross weave, Birch solid cottons!
Linen and heavier weight fabrics are not recommended. If you're unsure about fabric choice, stop by the shop or email us for assistance!
What to Bring:
- Outer fabric (light to medium weight fabrics recommended), lining fabric, and yardage for bias tape.
- Coordinating or contrasting thread
- Sewing machine with basic accessories (foot pedal, power cord, bobbin, etc.)
- We recommend that you bring your own fabric scissors
- Any other sewing tools you like to use at home!
Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 4 students to hold the class (if we're not able to run this class you'll be refunded). If you need to cancel within 1 week of the class, you will receive store credit.
