Class: The Reusable Shopping Bag with Evan, Monday November 24, 5:30-8:30PM
Join Evan for a fun and practical sewing project—our Reusable Shopping Bag! This class is perfect for beginners, makes a great holiday gift, and is an ideal project for lovers of Baggu reusable bags who want to learn how to make their own version. It’s also a great way to build confidence using and applying bias binding.
Skill Level: Beginner. You need to be able to sew a straight line, back tack, sew a zig zag, thread & unjam your machine, and wind your bobbin. The equivalent of taking our “Meet Your Machine” class.
What's Included: Everything you need to make your bag! For this project, we’ll be using premade bias tape available in the shop.
- 1 yard of cotton fabric (choose from our beautiful in-store options!)
- 3 yards of premade 1/2" bias tape
- 1 spool of Gutermann thread
- Step-by-step instructions to recreate your bag at home
Class Fee: The cost of this class is $100. The cost of instruction is $75 and the materials fee (required) is $25 and includes the pattern and all materials to make your bag.
What to Bring:
- Sewing machine with basic accessories (foot pedal, power cord, bobbin, etc.). Bringing your own machine is encouraged, but studio machines are available—please reach out to info@lakemakerie.com to reserve one after you register for class. Machines are limited.
Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 4 students to hold the class (if we're not able to run this class you'll be refunded). If you need to cancel within 1 week of the class, you will receive store credit.
