Class: Sew the Merchant and Mills Audrey Hood with Loren, Saturday January 31, 10AM-3PM

Join Loren in sewing the Audrey Hood! 

Not a scarf but more than a hood! Audrey is a warm layer over a coat or a pop of colour over a dress. Make it with contrast or self lining. Hoods are in people! This accessory great way to stay warm and stylish in the Minnesota cold. 

Skill Level: Beginner Friendly! We ask that you are able to sew a straight line, back tack, sew a zig zag, thread & unjam your machine, and wind your bobbin. The equivalent of taking our “Meet Your Machine” class.

Class Fee: The cost of this class is $114. The cost of instruction is $100 and the materials fee (required) is $14 and includes a printed Audrey Hood PDF Pattern and use of studio tools. 

Class Schedule: This is a one session class on Saturday January 31 from 10AM-3PM. 

Finished Hood Measurements:

Crown (excluding scarf depth): 26 3/4 inches

Scarf Depth: 7 1/2 inches

Scarf width: 50 3/4 inches

Fabric Requirements: 

• Main and lining Fabric: If your fabric is 43 1/2" - 47" wide get one yard of both the main and lining fabrics. If your fabric is 55" - 60" wide get 3/4 yard of both your main and lining fabrics.

Fabric Recommendations: 

• Main fabric suggestions - Gaberdine, denim, coating, midweight wool, boiled wool, double gauze, linen, corduroy & quilted jacquard (use a lightweight lining if using jacquard). 
• Lining suggestions - Cotton voile, linen, cotton poplin, mid to lightweight wool, soft/ brushed cottons or flannel, sherpa.

What to Bring:

• Prewashed fabric 
• Coordinating thread
  
• Sewing machine with basic accessories (foot pedal, power cord, bobbin, etc.). Bringing your own machine is encouraged, but studio machines are available—please reach out to info@lakesmakerie.com to reserve one after you register for class. Machines are limited. 
  

Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 4 registered students to hold the class. (If we do not hold the class you will be refunded). If you need to cancel later than 1 week before class is held, you will receive store credit.
