Finish the edges of a napkin or headscarf after you learn to set your serger up for the rolled hem stitch. Basic threading knowledge of the serger is required-- you’ll learn the specifics of the rolled hem, narrow hem and picot stitch (they’re all related :) ).  Experiment with other rolled hem applications as time allows (lettuce edge, tucks, etc.)

Skill Level: Need to know how to thread your serger or taken Basic Sergery from Material Girls

What You'll Learn:

  • How to set up serger for rolled, narrow and picot stitch
  • Tips and tricks when using these stitches
  • Turning corners with the rolled hem
  • Other applications for rolled hem

Supply List:

  • Serger, manual, foot control and any accessories
  • One or more tee shirts that you would like to hem
  • Contrasting or matching thread for the tees to be hemmed (you will need three serger cones or spools but only one of the threads will show on the outside of tee)
  • Pins, scissors, seam ripper, 6” ruler (longer is fine too)
