Class: Intro to Knits Series with Grace - Non-Serger! Tuesday August 4 & Thursday August 6, 12-3PM

Learn to sew knits! In this two-part series, you will gain the confidence to sew knits with ease. Grace will show you the basics so that you will no longer fear knits! Together, we will sew up a classic t-shirt using our very own Lakes Makerie original pattern.
In the first class, we will learn about knit fabrics and practice sewing on different types of knits. We will then cut out our fabric for a t-shirt!
During the second class, we will sew up the t-shirt. We're sure it will be the first of many, many knit garments that you'll enjoy sewing!
Class Schedule: This class meets on Tuesday August 4 & Thursday August 6 from 12-3PM.
Class Fee: The total class fee is $140. This includes the instruction fee is $120 and a $25 kit fee. The kit fee includes swatches of various knit fabrics, a print out of the t-shirt PDF pattern, and a set of ball-point needles.
What to Bring:
- 1 yard of pre-washed and dried knit fabric for the t-shirt. Please wash and dry your fabric as you hope to care for your finished T-shirt. If you want to put your T-shirt in the dryer, we recommend purchasing an additional 1/4 yd of fabric in case of shrinkage. Grace recommends purchasing fabric similar to Lady McElroy Martel Jersey for this project. Please come in the shop or send us a message for more help choosing fabric!
- Machine + accessories (foot pedal, power chord, bobbin, etc)
- Basic tools are provided in our studio for students. However, feel free to bring you own tools for your personal use.
We recommend bringing your own machine so you can continue to learn the ins and outs of sewing on your home machine! If you need, we offer studio machines to use upon request. Machines are limited. Please feel free to reach out to us at info@lakesmakerie.com for more info.
Cancelation Policy: This class is limited to 6 students. If you need to cancel later than 1 week before class is held, you will receive store credit.
