Join Sarah in sewing the Closet Core Jenna Button-up Shirt!
Have experience sewing basic garments and want to try something a little more advanced? This class offers guided instruction that will take your garment making skills up a level. You will cut and sew this classic menswear inspired shirt over 4 class sessions. Skills that will be taught are: sewing sleeves, drop yoke, traditional shirt collar and collar stand, plackets, cuffs, and buttons and more! Choose whether you want it long or cropped! Sizes XXS-4X available.
This class is suitable to confident beginners and above - you must have some prior experience and be able to thread your sewing machine, wind and insert the bobbin, and sew a straight stitch and back-tack. Prior basic garment sewing experience required.
The class is structured in 4 sessions as follows:
Tuesday May 7, 2024: 5:30-8:30
Tuesday May 14, 2024: 5:30-8:30
Tuesday May 21, 2024: 5:30-8:30
Tuesday May 28, 2024: 5:30-8:30
Instruction fee is $240.00. Kit fee of $20 includes the Closet Core Jenna Shirt and Shirtdress paper pattern, for a total class fee of $260.00. Please purchase both the instruction fee and kit fee!
What to Bring:
- Cut pattern pieces. Upon registration a pattern will be set aside for you to pick up in advance.
- Prewashed, dried and ironed fabric. Suggested fabrics are light to midnight woven and shirtings.
For fabric requirements please refer to the size chart in the photos. Please note whether you plan to sew View A or View B (color blocking)
*We are available during shop hours to answer any basic sizing and fabric questions.

- Basic tools are provided in our studio for students. However, feel free to bring you own tools such as scissors, pins and marking tools for your personal use.
- Machine + accessories (foot pedal, power cord, bobbins, manual)
We recommend bringing your own machine so you can continue to learn the ins and outs of sewing on your home machine! If you need, we offer studio machines to use upon request. Machines are limited. Please feel free to reach out to us at info@lakesmakerie.com for more info.
We will require a minimum of 4 students to hold the class. If you need to cancel later than 1 week before class is held, you will receive store credit.
