Basic & Beyond Sergery

Join Kristin from the Material Girls and get to know your Serger!

Do you have a serger you don’t know how to use? Are you a little confused about threading? Take the fear out of serging and get comfortable with what could become your favorite sewing tool. Start as a beginner or take the class to brush up or refresh your skills. This class is offered in 3 parts - A la carte style. 

Thursday September 19th, 10:00-12:00: Session A-Machine knowledge, threading and basic serging

Thursday September 26th, 10:00-12:00: Session B-Construction techniques for sergers, construct a child size tee You must have a working knowledge of the basic four thread serger stitch to take Sessions B and C. 

Thursday October 3rd, 10:00-12:00: Session C-Specialty stitches-rolled hem, flatlock and 3 thread You must have a working knowledge of the basic four thread serger stitch to take Sessions B and C. 

Skill Level: All

The class fee is $50 per class. 

Supply list: Serger and all accessories including serger manual (download online if you don’t have one), Four different colors of serger thread (helpful if it matches the four colors on serger tension dials) Basic sewing supplies-scissors, pins, ripper, etc.

If you need to cancel within 1 week of class, you will receive store credit.
