Want to make friends with a sewing machine? Sewing a pillow case is one of the quickest and most satisfying projects we know, so they're the perfect project to start with. Once you've made one, you'll want to make pillow cases for everyone in your life! Custom pillow cases are a great way to freshen up a room with your unique touch.
No prior sewing machine experience is required.
Required Materials:
- Please select and prewash your fabric prior to coming to class. You will need 1 3/4 yards for main fabric and 2/3 yards for the cuff fabric. This will be enough to make 2 pillowcases. We recommend a light-medium weight woven cotton such as a cotton poplin or lawn.

- Machine + accessories (foot pedal, bobbin, etc)
- Basic tools are provided in our studio for students. However, feel free to bring you own tools for your personal use.
We recommend bringing your own machine so you can continue to learn the ins and outs of sewing on your home machine! If you need, we offer studio machines to use upon request. Machines are limited. Please feel free to reach out to us at info@lakemakerie.com for more info.
