Class: Sew the Carrier Bag with Evan! Wednesday February 19, 5:30-7:30PM

In this class, you’ll make The Carrier Bag by Merchant & Mills, a versatile and timeless bag perfect for everyday use. This beginner-friendly project will guide you through the steps of sewing a functional bag with a reinforced lining and beautifully finished seams. In this class Evan will cut out the pattern in advance so you’ll have more time to focus on sewing and finishing your bag.

What You’ll Learn:
    •    How to use bias binding to reinforce the bottom of the bag
    •    Inserting a bagged lining for a professional look and durability
    •    Basic sewing techniques and stitching in the ditch

This class is perfect for confident beginners who have basic sewing skills, like threading your machine, sewing straight lines, and back-tacking. If you’re new to bag-making or want to expand your skills, this class is a great next step!

The cost of instruction for this class is $55 and the kit fee (required) is $33, for a total class fee of $88.

What to Bring:

• Sewing machine with basic accessories (foot pedal, power cord, bobbin, etc.). We recommend bringing your own machine to learn on the one you’ll use at home! Studio machines are also available. Please select either "I need to borrow a machine" or "Bringing my own machine" when you register.
• Optional: Anything you find helpful when sewing at home!

Important: If you’re completely new to sewing, we recommend starting with one of our introductory classes first, such as Meet Your Machine or Reversible Napkins.
