Class: Garment Sewing: Jessilous Patterns The Jill Wrap Skirt with Pattern Designer Evan Ihde, Sunday October 27, 9AM-2 PM
Sew the Jill Wrap Skirt with the co-pattern designer himself, Evan Ihde!
The Jill Wrap Skirt PDF Sewing Pattern from Jessilous Patterns was inspired by the effortlessly cool girls you see all over Pinterest. The minimal design is both easy and quick to sew, and easy to pair with your existing wardrobe! You'll practice cutting out pattern pieces, preparing and sewing darts, making and applying binding, sewing french seams, hems, and lining (optional). The pattern is offered as a mini skirt length and a maxi skirt length.
This class is suitable to confident beginners and above - you must have some prior experience and be able to thread your sewing machine, wind and insert the bobbin, and sew a straight stitch and back-tack.
The class fee is $130 and the kit fee (required) is $20 for the printed PDF pattern!
This is a one day class on Sunday October 27th from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Fabric recommendations: Brussels Washer Linen Blend, Essex Wovens, Lisbon Brushed Wovens, light-weight gabardine (for a more structured skirt), Sevenberry Nara Homespun, flannel (for a cozy winter skirt), or fine-wale corduroy would all be lovely for this skirt. We suggest coming into the shop to get help choosing your fabric prior to class if you're able to (with enough time to prewash your fabric). If you aren't able to come in, feel free to give us a call at 612-743-9505 to run your fabric choice past us!
What to Bring:
-Pre-cut/traced paper pattern pieces. Upon registration for the class, we will print out a pattern for you that you can stop by and pick up prior to your class! The PDF files will be emailed to you as well for your use.
-Pre selected, washed, dried, and pressed fabric. Please refer to the size chart (third photo) to select the appropriate fabric requirements. We recommend light/medium weight woven cottons or linens for ease of construction. Please also note that most fabrics do not require a lining, but if your fabric requires a lining and/or you wish to line your skirt, we recommend choosing a fabric similar in weight to your outside fabric. The fabric requirement for lining is also included in the fabric chart.
-The fabric requirements account for the binding you will make. If you would like to bring your own pre-made wide bias tape, refer to the chart in photos for yardage requirements.
-Coordinating thread
-Sewing machine, power cord, bobbins, etc. If you need to borrow one of our class machines please let us know!
-There will be a break for lunch/a snack so bring food and drink! You are also to run down to Heather's restaurant (1 block away) to pick up tasty treats if you wish!
This is a size inclusive pdf sewing pattern: The pattern includes sizes 0 - 34, which correlate to Full Bust 31"-57" and Waist 24"-50"
This garment was fit tested by a plus size fit model before going into testing, where it was sewn and fitted by 45 people across the entire size range. Doing this helps ensure that you receive the best fitting pattern possible with easy to understand instructions and illustrations.
The class is limited to 6 students. If you need to cancel within one week of the class, you will receive store credit.
