Class: Garment Sewing: Jessilous Patterns The Sparkle Top or Dress with Evan (learn how to sew an invisible zipper!), Starts Thursday May 8, 5:30-8:30PM

Sew the Sparkle Top (or Dress!) with the co-pattern designer himself, Evan Ihde!

The Sparkle Top is a sleek and minimalist piece designed to be a versatile wardrobe essential. It features delicate straps, princess seams, and a slightly dropped waist. The clean lines and close fit create a modern silhouette, perfect for layering or wearing on its own. You also have the option to add a gathered skirt and make a Sparkle Dress! 

Skill Level:

This class is suitable to advancing beginners and above. You need to have sewn a garment, quilt, bag or participated in a beginner sewing class prior to this class and feel comfortable using your machine. There will be parts of this process assigned as "homework" (after you've gone over it once in class). 

Class Structure: This is a two session class (5/8 and 5/15).

Session 1: Thursday May 8, 2025: 5:30-8:30PM

You'll go over the fit of the Sparkle Top and, using cotton poplin that's included in the class fee, cut out and sew the lining. This will give you a chance to check the fit of the garment first, using your lining as a "wearable toile." Evan will also go over fabric recommendations for the outer fabric during this class. We recommend that you don't purchase your exterior fabric until after the first class. Sewing the outer fabric of the class will be assigned as "homework" between classes (using the exact same method that you just sewed the lining fabric in). 

Session 2: Thursday May 15, 2025: 5:30-8:30PM

You'll learn how to insert an invisible zipper and hem your Sparkle Top! 

What to Bring:

• Sewing machine with basic accessories (foot pedal, power cord, bobbin, etc.). Bringing your own machine is encouraged, but studio machines are available—please reach out to info@lakemakerie.com to reserve one after you register for class. Machines are limited. 
• Optional: Any other sewing tools you love using! 

Notes on the Pattern: 

This is a size inclusive PDF sewing pattern: The pattern includes sizes 0 - 34, which correlate to Full Bust 31"-57" and Waist 24"-50"

This garment was fit tested by a plus size fit model before going into testing, where it was sewn and fitted by 45 people across the entire size range. Doing this helps ensure that you receive the best fitting pattern possible with easy to understand instructions and illustrations.

Cancellation Policies: 

We require a minimum of 4 students to hold the class (if we're not able to run this class you'll be refunded). If you need to cancel within 1 week of the class, you will received store credit.
